The family team of Martine and Jean-Pierre Margan, and their daughter, Nathalie, are the fourth and fifth generations of Martine’s family to farm this historic estate of Chateau la Canorgue—once an ancient Roman villa and more recently, the setting for Ridley Scott’s 2006 film, A Very Good Year. Chateau La Canorgue is the perfect picture of rustic Provencal charm, and the Margans have taken decades to restore the house, winery and property to their former glory. The results have paid off. By introducing organic and biodynamic farming to the vineyards back in the 1970s, they were able to bring the wines to new heights. Today, the Chateau is regarded as one of the great benchmarks in the Luberon for quality wine. This mouthwatering Viognier takes like sunshine in a bottle, with ripe notes of apricots, white peaches and pears oozing from the glass.
