Vacation/Tour

Summary

Join our semi-guided La Rioja & Basque Country 6 days/5 nights tour and discover the history of La Rioja wine and its influence in the Spanish wine industry.  La Rioja wine region is highly famed not only in Spain but internationally as well. This region of Spain is home to more than 500 wineries and a visit to La Rioja and Basque Country offers a variety of activities including exploring the region’s medieval towns, enjoying natural attractions during the hiking and biking tours, and of course, wine tasting at some of the La Rioja best wineries.

We will visit one of the authentic La Rioja boutique wineries, over 100 years old La Bodega del Tesoro Family winery, and join the unique culinary experience of “Txokos”, a closed Basque gastronomical society where locals come together to cook, eat, and socialize.

Enjoy “Patas a la Riojana” and other Basque specialties accompanied by the exquisite wines of La Rioja.  During this wine and gastronomic route among Basque Country vineyards, you will have the opportunity to explore the most beautiful villages of La Rioja, stroll down the medieval streets of San Sebastian, visit the Basque Country cheese factories and learn about the work of Basque shepherds before you taste their exceptional cheese.  We will visit small, family owned vineyards where you’ll enjoy a unique tasting of sparkly, crisp easy drinking Txakoli wines before we head for the vibrant riverside city of Bilbao.
