City Winery Chicago and American Airlines invite you to our First Class International Pairing Series with Ted Diamantis and the wines of Greece. American Airlines is the Official Airline of City Winery and the Annual First Class International Pairing Series. American offers ample nonstop daily service to the featured destinations. Once per quarter, we present a dinner showcasing the wines and cuisine of a fascinating region served by American Airlines.
The evening will consist of remarks by CEO and owner of Diamond Wine Importers, Ted Diamantis, a four-course dinner, and flights of wine highlighting the traditional styles of the region. Over the course of seven dinners we will ‘visit’ an array of interational destinations.
City Winery hosts Diamond Wine Importers, a beautiful portfolio featuring the wines of Greece. Enjoy a four course menu crafted by Chef Mark Mendes to highlight the wines, the vineyards, and the soil of the Greek landscape through the lens of Ted. Our American Airlines Sweepstakes Drawing will take place at the conclusion of our dinner series. This will include the possibility to win 2 roundtrip tickets to any international destination that American Airlines services. Everyone that attends a dinner will be entered into this sweepstakes, and will have the opportunity to win!
Biography - Ted Diamantis, Diamond Wine Importers
In 1992, Ted created Diamond Wine Importers out of the belief that Greece, with its natural terroir of mountain vineyards, maritime influenced climate, volcanic and alluvial soils, and over 200 ancient indigenous varieties, can once again become a source of some of the greatest wines in the world. Over the last 20 years of tasting and traveling throughout Greece, he has compiled a portfolio of the best artisan, vineyard-driven producers who are working with the best native varietals from the best appellations. They only focus on producers and growers who are fully committed to quality and sustainability from vine to bottle. These producers are people that have passion, are self made men, work with the land, and embody the true winemaking spirit. Their goal is to now educate and enlighten the American wine market about these indigenous varietals, ancient appellations and, most importantly, the spirit of these outstanding producers.
