Rain or shine, the race must go on! Start + finish the VA Wine Country Half Marathon at Doukénie. We will be hosting the post-race Wine & Music Festival, presented by the Loudoun Wineries Association. This scenic, tree-laden course runs north of the winery on historic byways, passing the vineyards, farms, ranches and estates along the way.
Over 15 local wineries will display and offer some of their best wines for tasting and local food vendors will be set up with several food offerings for all tastes. Participants will be entertained by a local band that will be setup under our pavilion.
The Jay Summerour Band will be performing from 9:30am to 12:30pm at the Wine and Music Festival. The Jay Summerour Band is an all-star blues quartet consisting of Stompin' Jay (WAMMIE Lifetime Achievement Award Winner) on harmonica & vocals, James Mabry (blues icon) on guitar & vocals, Michelle Lucas (nationally touring artist) on bass & vocals and Eric Selby (inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame) on drums & vocals.
Entry into the Wine and Music Festival requires purchase of the SCHOTT ZWIESEL® Crystal Glassware (Kids can enter for free but cannot participate in the tasting). The wine glass and entry into the Wine and Music Festival is $25 for runners and $30 for spectators.
It will be an unforgettable day of wine, music, and local eats for spectators + runners!
