Castelvero Cortese 2017 $7.99
This light-bodied Cortese has nice aromatics, tangy citrus-melon fruit components, and no oak. The wine is crisp, clean, and refreshing, with a lovely whisper of fruit on the finish. If you enjoy Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc this is a must-try for you.
Leone De Castris Five Roses Rosé 2018 $16.99
Obtained mainly from Negroamaro grapes, it conquests at first sight with the characteristic crystalline cherry-red colour and enchants with fruity scents of cherry and strawberry. In the mouth it is fresh, smooth and nicely persistent. Suggested with “risotto”, boiled meat and dishes based on sea-food and white meat. Very good with “frisa salentina”.
Leone De Castris Salice Salentino Riserva 2015 $17.99
Intense ruby-red in color, concentrated aromas of black cherries and baked red fruits complement undertones of plums, spices, vanilla, and anise. On the palate, velvety tannins and a full body frame the long, delectable finish of stewed strawberries and vanilla beans.Pair this wine with well-aged steaks, demi-glaces, barbecue, and farsumagru.
Produttori del Barbaresco Ovello 2014 $64.99
“The 2014 Barbaresco Riserva Ovello is bright and piercing, as it so often is, and yet it also has more than enough fruit to fill out its mid-weight, energetic frame. Pine, mint, crushed rocks and sweet red plum build into the huge, piercing finish. The Ovello is another wine in this range that demands patience. Even in the early going it is super impressive. The 2014 s an unusually dense, packed Ovello. It should be terrific in another few years’ time.” 95pts Vinous
