We are thrilled to welcome Gabriela García, Co-Owner of Lamadrid Estate Wines in Argentina for an exceptional tasting on Thursday May 30th from 5-7:30pm. The event will feature an array of stunning Argentine red wines including Malbec, Bonarda, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Lamadrid Estate Wines was founded in 2005, when the García Lamadrid family purchased three prominent vineyards in the Agrelo district of Mendoza: Lamadrid, La Matilde, and La Suiza. The La Matilde vineyard is a very special site, with 80 year-old vines producing small yields of richly concentrated fruit. Upon purchasing the winery, the García Lamadrid family restored the original facility, updating it with innovative and state-of-the-art technology. The team is dedicated to making estate wines reflective of the region’s unique terroir and proximity to the Andes Mountain Range, utilizing both indigenous and international grape varietals.
Gabriela is Owner Guillermo García Lamadrid’s daughter, who recently graduated from NYU’s undergraduate business school. Always expressing an interest in the family wine business, she has studied wine extensively including Sommelier courses at the International Culinary Center in New York. Gabriela is committed to working alongside her father to build upon Lamadrid’s success in the United States market, while also spending time on new projects at the winery in Mendoza.
