Tasting:

Domaine Long-Depaquit 2015 “Moutonne” Chablis Grand Cru - “La Moutonne” is a vineyard nestled in a natural amphitheatre at the heart of the Grand Cru sector of the historic age-old Chablis wine country. Its shape and ideal location make it a natural solar receptor. Sitting 95% in “Vaudésir” and 5% in “Les Preuses” (formerly owned by the Pontigny monks), “La Moutonne” is a monopole meaning Domaine Long-Depaquit is the sole owner. With its south/south-eastern exposure and a steep slope of almost 40%, this vineyard is protected from north winds.

2016 Puligny- Montrachet - The central part of the Côte de Beaune has a zone adapted to for the production of great white wines of which Puligny-Montrachet is indisputably one of the most glorious representatives. World-renowned for its white wines, this vineyard area touches the limit of Meursault to the north and Chassagne-Montrachet to the south.

Domaine du Pavillon 2016 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru “Clos des Maréchaudes” - Just like its neighbor, the illustrious Corton Grand Cru Monopole "Clos des Maréchaudes", this wine is also a “monopole” belonging to the Domaine du Pavillon estate. The soil here is brown limestone overlying scree, with a high proportion of clay. "En Mareschaut" is derived from the Old French term “maresche” (marsh). The lower parts of Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix-Serrigny were marshy due to their proximity to the Lauve spring. Major drainage work was undertaken to dry up the land and make it suitable for planting vines.

Domaine du Clos Frantin 2016 Echezeaux Grand Cru - the plot is located in the "Les Champs Traversins" single vineyard. A high proportion of sand and gravel in the soil, the steepness of the slope ("traversins" is derived from Occitan and meant "steep slope"), and the proximity of the Orveau valley are all factors that make this terroir capable of producing a wine with such characteristic elegance and sophistication.

2016 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru - Located north of the village of Morey-Saint-Denis and adjacent to Gevrey-Chambertin, Clos de la Roche is located on the rocky limestone ridge of the slope, hence its name ("roche" means rock in French). With an altitude of between 250 and 300 metres, this is the biggest Grand Cru vineyard in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis.

2016 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Chateau Gris - The Château Gris castle was built in the 18th century in the middle of its 3.5 ha (8.6 acre) walled vineyard. After the vineyards were destroyed by phylloxera, the roof of the castle was covered with grey slate although tiles are the traditional material used in Burgundy. The people of Nuits-Saint-Georges therefore began to refer to it as Château Gris (grey castle) and the name stuck. Further to a court ruling in the 1920s, the name “Château Gris” was allowed to prevail over the name of the place (lieu-dit) "Les Crots" where the vines are planted. The vines are planted on terraces that cling to the slope at an altitude of 280 metres. The plots of land at the foot of the castle produce Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru “Château Gris” red, while those at higher altitudes are planted with Chardonnay grapes and entitled to produce the white Nuits-Saint-Georges “Les Terrasses”.
