Entertaining crowds since they were teenagers, four of five members
of the KC Aces are recognized by the Kansas Music Hall of Fame. Jay’s
MowBray’s soulful voice and Terry Swope’s soulful lightnin’ guitar define the
sound of the Aces. Terry Swope has long been known as one of the finest
electric guitarists around, and Jay MowBray has that voice . . . not unlike
Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, or David Clayton-Thomas—he always brings his
own signature style to a song.

Singing since he was in grade school, Jay performed with a gospel group that toured the
Midwest. He later put music aside to concentrate on a career, and to raise a family. Now
back in the business with all of his heart, Jay and the band are better every time I hear
them. Especially with the addition of their newest member, drummer Tommy Sutherland.
