What are wine aromas? How does a winemaker get them in the bottle? Come Sniff, Sip & Learn!
This is probably one of the most educational wine events available. Wilhelm Family Vineyards Winemaker, Karyl presents a 2 hour seminar on some of the finer points of wine education, a.k.a. wine aromas. It’s true: wines have unique aromas, characteristics, and complex layers. The winemaker plays a significant role in guiding the process, but Mother Earth has her own agenda as well. Attendees of the seminar are encouraged to smell and interpret the contents of multiple glasses and record their perceptions. Karyl encourages teamwork, and usually, all in good fun, competitive natures make an appearance. After collective teamwork assessment of the wines, Karyl will discuss the correct answers and why wines have their specific aromas, and occasionally, faults. Correct guesses or not, there is a big learning curve with this seminar…and the bonus of enjoyment and fun, spending time with family and friends drinking wine and eating great tapas! Reservations are required as class space is limited.
