On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, PLāYT Restaurant in Hayward will be open for brunch from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM serving a la carte specials in the spirit of the occasion including Herb Roasted Toybox Tomatoes with Parmesan cheesy grits, two farm fresh scrambled eggs and fried Vidalia onions$16.00; PLāYT’s signature Chicken Benedict with buttermilk brined fried chicken, two poached farm eggs, pan fried potatoes and creole hollandaise/$18.00; Spicy Seafood Gumbo with Gulf shrimp, blue crab, crawfish, andouille sausage trinity and Cajun rice/$19.00; Spike’s Savory Bread Pudding with tasso ham, fresh herbs, Parmesan, green pea puree and a fried duck egg/$18.00; Swai Catfish and Grits with house blended seasoning, stone ground grits, scrambled eggs and pickled trinity vegetables/$19.00. Beginning at 5:00 PM, the dinner menu will also include specials of the day. Prices exclude tax and gratuity.
