It was the tasting that revolutionized the wine world. Forty three years ago on May 24, 1976, the top people of the French wine establishment participated in a blind tasting that pitted some of the finest French wines against unknown California wines.
The final results startled everyone: not one French wine came in first; they were all surpassed by the California wines.
