Wood fired pizza, country/rock music and wine (or local beer on tap) here at Bishop Estate Winery, is always a special way to start your weekend, chilling here at the winery with Wayne Johnston.
Wayne Johnston is going to be doing some down-home country tunes along with soft rock and pop tunes this Friday at Bishop Estate Vineyard and Winery from 6 to 9 pm. Wayne is known for being the founding member of the local Johnston Brothers Band, and is currently lead guitarist for Real Diamond. He plays acoustic guitar and harmonica in his singer/songwriter solo gig, and Friday he will treat us to country, blues, soft rock, and pop songs which round out his extensive repertoire.
Urban’s Wood Fired Pizza Food Truck will also be joining us! Great wood fire pizza with several delicious options on the menu! Beer on tap will be something special from Sage Alley Brewery, 10-7, and Moss Mill Brewery.
Our wines are ready to taste, 6 wines for $6.00. May I suggest our nice dry un-oaked Stalemate Chardonnay, stainless steel style, crisp and clean with a very desirable nose and Chardonnay flavor. Or try the Initiative Marquette, a slight twist on its parent lineage the Pinot Noir grape, this wine is a light, complex, drier version, with notes of leather, pepper and spice, an interesting intriguing flavor combo that will not leave you bored but will elevate that wood fired pizza and your wine to that taste bud excitement that us dry red wine lovers long for! Maybe you like your wine a little sweeter? Sip the Persuader La Crescent a Muscato style white or the ODA Shiraz, wonderful and easy drinking full bodied red with a touch of sweetness that is very complimentary to everything you eat.
We have our fire pits out, and our bond fire lit, but we also have our heated cozy shabby sheik shack and garage with our new mood lighting, which is such a unpretentious place to relax and hang out while you sip some wine and listen to good music.
