"Did you know that creating the taste of wine engages more of the brain than any other human behavior?" And by the way, that's your brain, not the winemaker's brain.
This will be your chance to learn (or review) the 5 S's of wine appreciation. Several fun and illuminating exercises will illustrate the basic concepts behind the S's. For example, does color influence our perception of flavor? How important is aroma to our perception of flavor? Do we all have the same sensitivity to components of taste such as sweetness, acidity or bitterness? Once we understand a little bit about how we taste - we'll go on to explore a selection of Finger Lakes Wines artfully paired with some local foods. Or is it scientifically? You be the judge!
