Cost: $15

We're switching it up this week and hope you find it as interesting as we do. We've been searching high and low, off the beaten path, to find you quality and value and we think we've hit it with this week's wines. Some unique, some classic, some iconic, many biodynamic, most organic, all great and all great prices!

Organic & Under the Radar | March 30 @ 12-5pm | $15

2015 Domaine Boeckel, Cremant (Organic)
2016 Domaine Mittnacht, Pinot Gris (Certified Biodynamic)
2016 Hendry, Chardonnay, Unoaked
2010 Diatom, Kazaoto, Chardonnay
2015 Dievole, Chianti Classico DOCG
2013 Oakville Cross, Cabernet
Sean Thackrey, Pleiades Old Vines XXVI, Red Blend

2015 Domaine Boeckel, Cremant

Delicious is the only word that comes to mind when drinking this wine, with all the uncomplicated pleasure that that implies. Dry, but not too dry, bursting with berried Pinot charm and dangerously easy to drink.

2016 Domaine Boeckel, Mittnacht, Pinot Gris

If you don’t like Pinot Gris because it’s too ripe, please keep an open mind with this one. Beautiful balance, crisp rock melon and lime notes, and that over-ripeness? Not happening. Delicious.

2016 Hendry, Chardonnay, Unoaked

If you live in Napa you’ll know that the Hendry vineyards surround the dog park on Dry Creek road. But this is no dog of a wine. The nose of wheat and honey hints promise richness on the palate; The flavors do not disappoint. But there is ample acidity here, a racy freshness that makes this a tremendous value for when the sun finally comes back out. The Hendry family does the organic and sustainable thing to a T.

2010 Diatom, Kazaoto, Chardonnay

This classic Central Coast chardonnay was born in the vineyards of the Santa Rita Hills but they don’t make Kazaoto anymore so WineBank is the only place you’ll find it!

2015 Dievole, Chianti Classico DOCG

A GREAT twenty-dollar wine! Smoky and warm with fresh red fruits and just a hint of nutmeg. We tasted the whole line and they were all delicious and so balanced. If it makes you want to have it with mushroom ravioli, we get it.

2013 Oakville Cross, Cabernet

Oakville Cross is next door to Screaming Eagle. It’s across the street from Groth. Silver Oak is right behind it. Opus One is right up the road. Oakville Cross is an under the radar gem, Oakville juice for a fraction of the Oakville price. The 2013 vintage is a great one. If you want six or more, take an extra ten percent off at the tasting only. Don’t question why this is such an unbelievable deal. It just is.

Sean Thackrey, Pleiades Old Vines XXVI, Red Blend

This Marin county iconoclast is a great scholar (didn’t graduate) a great photographer (didn’t study it) and an even better winemaker (consulting ancient texts for ideas). If you are searching for the great unknown in wines, this is not the label for you. The man has a huge following but continues to make this $20-ish gem using whatever blend he thinks will do the job. Mr. Thackrey reminds one of Bob Dylan, Karl Ove Knausgaard and Randall Grahm in one body. The wine: Red and black fruits, smoked meat notes with soft tannins and good acidity.

*Lineup subject to change

The full lineup tasting is $15, half tasting is $10. yes you saw that right ;)
