I have a question for you. When was the last time you sat down and had a Shiraz from South Australia that Robert Parker rated 94+ points and at the same sitting also had a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir that James Suckling rated 94 points? In addition, you also had a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that Vinous Media rated 93 points and a Chianti Classico single vineyard Grand Selection that Wine Spectator rated 93 points. Let’s have some more fine wine poured for you. A right bank Bordeaux rated 92 points and a Spanish red from Rioja also at 92 points. You probably have noticed that these fine wines were produced in some of the greatest wine regions in the world.
Did you ask about choice white wines? Glad you did. How about having a great Chardonnay from the leading producer in Chile. Someone once said that Chile was the perfect place for producing great Chardonnay. Evidently, James Suckling thought so—he gave this one 93 points.
But there are other great white wine regions around the world, as well. Are you in the mood for something different? Perhaps, some white wine from grapes that you’ve never had before? What about placing before you a delicious Arneis from Northern Italy…also, a wine from some relatively rare white grapes from Portugal? Both wines are rated at 90 points or more.
