From Hopler Winery
Saturday, February 16th
Trapp Family Lodge Wine Cellar
The Von Trapp family has a long history with the Hopler winery in Austria. For over thirty years Hopler has bottled their Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir with the Trapp Family crest on the label, a proprietary labeling.
Austrian wines are becoming more popular across a broad spectrum of American restaurants and fine wine shops.
We’ll taste a Pinot Blanc; this grape is also popular across the border in Alsace, France, a Gruner Veltliner; the signature white grape of Austria, a Riesling; much drier than the German versions you may be familiar with, a Pinot Noir; a grape Austria has gotten some very good press about recently and a Zweigelt; the most popular red grape in Austria which is a cross of the Blaufrankisch and Saint-Laurent grapes.
Price is $20. Please call or see the front desk to place reservations. 802 253-5742. Doors open @ 4:00. I suggest you arrive no later than 5:00 to avoid feeling rushed. People come and go during the tasting which is an informal walk around format. We end at 6:00
