This week's tasting is leading us to Austria! Austrian wine is known for perfumed aromatics and mouth-watering acidity. Near the same parallel as northern France and Canada, wine grows with elegance. All of the wines on this week's tasting are Organic and Biodynamic!
We will start with an easy sipping white blend that showcases several Austrian white grape varietals. Full of green apple notes, a touch of stone fruit, and a beautiful floral touch with a hint of pepper at the finish. All stainless steel fermented for this bright, crisp Austrian gem.
Next we are moving to an Austrian sparkling rose made Italian frizzante style. Bright fruit, ripe acidity with a slight spritz work perfectly together. It shows notes of strawberry, mint, and racing acidity - made in the Charmat method for purity and freshness.
Despite Austria being known for white wines, there is also a richer side of Austrian wine found in Blaufränkish, Zweigelt, and Saint Laurent. Our next pour will be a blend of the three grape varietals. A sprinkle of red berries with unobtrusive spice while acidity and tannins come together balanced to create this juicy red blend.
