Located in Lazio, Cincinnato is deeply conscious of the importance of typicity and biodiversity, and for this reason has always been committed to regenerating and showcasing native grape varieties such as Nero Buono and Bellone. Stop in and taste these unusual, but quite drinkable varietals.

2017 Cincinnato Castore     $13
Bellone
From Lazio the Castore is 100% Bellone. The nose is full of lemon, lemon drop, fennel and a little hint of camp fire. It is mid weight with lots of lemony acidity and a little peachy note in the finish. Touch of spice; fleshy, bright and with a rather stubborn finish. No Baloney. 13% alcohol by volume

2016 Cincinnato Polluce      $13
Nero Buono
A unique grape that grows in Volcanic soils in Lazio. The aromas have that tinge of sottobosco--the woody, underbrush scent I spoke of in last week’s choice. There are fresh, lively raspberry and strawberry flavors that emit a hint of soy sauce. Drinking this alongside roast beef, baked eggplant or even a cut of wild salmon brings out a savory complexity that satisfies and refreshes the senses. 13% alcohol by volume

Madrona Wine Merchants offers free wine tastings featuring 4-5 selections on a theme every Saturday from 2 until the bottles run out and on Sunday, we offer a mini-tasting of two wines all day from 11-5.
