Need a break from Christmas shopping? Undecided about what to pour over the holidays? Then come on down on the 20th, 21st, 22nd or 23rd for a tasting of some of our favorite "under the radar" wines to pair with your own Christmas dinner. We're serving an amazing 10-course tasting menu paired with four different wines plus our legendary housemade eggnog as a finale with dessert. (And, yes, we will give out our eggnog recipe on request!)

Cost is a mere sixty-five plus tax and gratuity for everything including a glass of bubbly, all three wines, a demitasse of eggnog and the entire 10-course "Flavors of Christmas" tasting menu. Hope you can join us! Here's the line-up. Wine notes and bottle prices are at the end of this announcement if you're interested.

NOTE: Due to the complexity of this menu we regret that we will be unable to accommodate any menu modification requests whatsoever.

LOCATION & PHONE
Wine Vault & Bistro is located in the heart of San Diego between Little Italy and Old Town at 3731-A India Street on the upstairs terrace. Follow the black handrail up the stairs from the sidewalk to our front door. Our phone number is (619) 295-3939.

PARKING ~ FREE & PAID
Valet parking is available for $8.00. The drop-off point is two doors south of our entrance in front of Shakespeare Pub at the corner of India and Winder. On-street parking is also usually available within a 3-block radius. Remember that it’s OK to park in yellow commercial zones after 6:00 and that meters are also free after 6:00. You can also park in the lot behind Shakespeare Pub two doors down, but do not park in El Indio's lot unless you want your car towed! If you can’t find parking next to the restaurant, there’s always LOTS OF PARKING on San Diego Avenue and the adjacent side streets just past the Chevron station across Washington Street. So please don't drive yourself crazy endlessly going around in circles waiting to pounce on that perfect spot when there's TONS OF PARKING less than three blocks away!

WINE NOTES & BOTTLE PRICES
NV Mas Fi Brut Cava ~ $10
(Spain) Winemaker's notes: 40% Xarel-lo, 35% Macabeo + 25% Parellada. An elegant and balanced sparkling wine. Undergoing second fermentation in the bottle, it is aged for 10 months providing its fine bubbles and complex and structured palate. There are notes of white flowers and citrus on the nose, with fresh stone fruits and pleasant creamy flavors in the mouth.

2012 Saxon Brown " Fighting Brothers Cuvée" Semillon ~ $15
(Sonoma County) Winemaker's Notes: Exotic notes of white peach, citrus blossom and fig permeate this incredibly lively, refreshing and food-friendly Semillon. The crisp, high-toned fruit flavors are beautifully supported by the wonderfully rich, slightly yeasty mouthfeel. The wine finishes with tremendous length and finesse, ending with a flourish of floral accents.

2015 Foxen "Santa Maria Valley" Pinot Noir ~ $27
(Santa Maria Valley) Review by Wine Advocate ~ 92 Points: Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, this wine has scents of violets, cinnamon stick and Ceylon tea over a core of red cherries and raspberries, plus a hint of dried Provence herbs. The light to medium-bodied palate offers up a fantastic intensity of perfumed red berries supported by soft, silky tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing with a lovely herbal lift.

2014 Cent'Anni "Buoni Anni" Sangiovese ~ $22
(Santa Ynez Valley) Winemaker's Notes: A classic Sangiovese that is dry, lean and complex. The typical Sangiovese aromas of spice and violets are here; complemented by plum, earthy currants and Bing cherry. The wine has a wonderful silky texture. The tannins and firm acidity are present but integrated. Even though we are growing in one of the cooler climates in California we still get fully physiological mature grapes. The firm but benevolent framework means it’s drinkable now.

WV&B's Legendary Eggnog
A decadent combination of super fresh local eggs, dark rum, Cognac, vanilla, cream and spices. (Recipe on request.)
