Recommended Prerequisite: WSET Level 1 Foundation in Wine Certificate

The WSET Level 2 Intermediate Certificate ideal for those with little knowledge of wine, or those who have depth of knowledge regarding particular types of wine but lack a true breadth of knowledge of all the world’s wines. This program enables students to interpret wine and spirits labels, explain the fundamentals of wine-tasting, become familiar with the world’s major wine regions and their principal wines, and share basic advice on wine selection and service.

The course includes 18 hours of instruction, study materials, exam in our venue in West Los Angeles and tasting of over 40 wines (wine tasting is a part of every class). The WSET recommends that students complete at least 14 hours of personal study outside the classroom hours during their course of study. The exam is a one-hour multiple-choice exam. Passing rate: 55%. The Intermediate exam is also available in Spanish.

Who it is aimed at: People employed in the drinks and hospitality industries with little previous knowledge of alcoholic beverages and wine enthusiasts who wish to acquire in-depth knowledge of wines and spirits.
