World of Syrah/Shiraz
Saturday, November 17th
Trapp Family Lodge Wine Cellar
Syrah makes big, full-bodied, lush wines.
The Australians call the grape Shiraz, based years ago on the historical evidence which suggested the grape originated near the city of Shiraz in ancient Persia.
Turns out the Australians were wrong. DNA testing has shown that the grape originated in or around the Rhone Valley in France where it is still grown in large quantities.
We’ll try wines from France, Spain, Australia, Italy and the U.S.
Price is $20. Please call or see the front desk to place reservations. 802 253-5742. Doors open @ 4:00. I suggest you arrive no later than 5:00 to avoid feeling rushed. People come and go during the tasting which is an informal walk around format. We end at 6:00
