On Wednesday, December 5, the best of Boston chefs and beyond will come together to celebrate legendary chef and instructor Jacques Pépin at The Hotel Commonwealth.  Boston University’s Programs in Food & Wine and the Jacques Pépin Legacy Fund (JPLF) are commemorating the 30th anniversary of Boston University’s Certificate Program in Culinary Arts and Pépin’s contributions as one of the program’s three founders.  The gala benefit will serve as a celebration of the formation of the JPLF and will raise funds to support the Jacques Pépin Kitchen Fund at Boston University.  
 
Hosted by award-winning Boston Chef Jeremy Sewall (Island Creek Oyster Bar, Row 34), tickets are $500 per person (general admission) or $750 per person (VIP). For tickets and additional information, please visit http://www.bu.edu/foodandwine/30th. The VIP reception starts at 6:00 p.m., with General Admission at 6:45 p.m., Dinner & Program at 7:15 p.m. and Dessert Reception at 9:30 p.m.
 
Overlooking Fenway Park from the Hotel Commonwealth’s Fenway Ballroom and Terrace, the VIP cocktail reception will feature tasting stations from Boston’s finest chefs, including:

- Jamie Bissonnette: Toro/Little Donkey/Coppa 
- Ming Tsai: Blue Dragon 
- David Punch/Fran Millan: Sycamore/Little Donkey/Little Big Diner 
- Kevin O’Donnell and Michael Lombardi: SRV 
- Colin Lynch: Bar Mezzana 
- Carolyn Johnson: 80 Thoreau/Mooncusser/Moon Bar 
- Tony Maws: Craigie on Main/Kirkland Tap & Trotter
 
Guests will enjoy a seated four-course dinner and wine pairings with courses from:
- Jeremy Sewall, Island Creek Oyster Bar, Row 34
- Justin Walker, Walkers Maine
- Seattle’s Renee Erickson, Bateau and The Walrus and the Carpenter 
- Chicago’s Stephanie Izard, Girl & the Goat, Little Goat in Chicago
 
The program will include a short culinary demonstration by Jacques Pépin followed by a live auction.  A dessert reception will follow with Janine Sciarappa and Jim Dodge (BU Culinary), Lauren Moran (Honeycomb), and Maura Kilpatrick (Oleana/Sofra).  Special guests will also include: Jody Adams, Dana Cowin, Mary Ann Esposito, Ana Sortun, Ming Tsai, Jasper White, and more.
