A harvest report from Georges DuBoeuf:  

"Another exceptional "8" year! The last days of the harvest were bathed in warm late summer sunshine. From the first day to the last, the 27th of August to the 23rd of September, this harvest will be remembered as one of the best in years.  Resplendent green foliage, healthy and robust vines and perfect maturity, right up to picking: we had all this and more over the entire region, all the way from north to south.  These exceptional weather conditions have paved the way for a sublime vintage.  We've already sampled, analyzed and tasted more than two thousand wines and are delighted to share our first impressions with you. Beaujolais Nouveau 2018 is shaping up to be headily aromatic, with bountiful fruit and intense aromas of red and black berries. In the mouth, it is generous and intense with a rich, silky and unctuous structure and a wonderfully fresh finish.  There's no mistaking the Gamay here!  Nature has held up her side of the bargain, so now it's up to us to make the most of this exceptional vintage.  So before autumn sweeps down to spangle our vineyards with gold and red, we've selected the finest of the Beaujolais and Beaujolais-Villages to present to you as the "primeurs" on the 15th of November."
