During the fall season, hillside groves and vineyards in Italy come alive. As you walk through the countryside you witness the height of activity in this rich region. It’s harvest time or Vendemmia as it’s called by the locals.
This fall, we're celebrating the harvest of Barolo as we lead you on a tasting tour through Unesco’s ancient hills of Piedmont with Fontanafredda. The winery was founded in 1858 by Count Emanuele Alberto di Mirafiori on the hunting grounds of his father, King Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of Italy. Emmanuele was known for his bravery — and for his fondness for wine. Today, more than 150 years later, Fontanafredda’s devotion to wine, respect of the land, passion for vinicultural tradition and use of innovative technology continues to produce one of the highest calibers of wine.
Join us as we taste four red wines paired with three classic Piemontese antipasti dishes. The wines will be specifically paired to emphasize the subtle nuances of each unique vino. Listen as a Fontanafredda expert gives in-depth explanations and information regarding wine production and regional terroir:
