DISCOVER SOUTH AFRICAN WINES
EMMI-KINDRED CREAMERY CHEESE SAMPLING
Wine Sampling Hosted by Jennifer DiGerlando, Certified Specialist of Wine and Sommelier
JOIN Jennifer and sample 4 selections from South Africa. Bloem Chenin Blanc/Viognier, Bloem Syrah/Mourvedre, Noble Hill Red Blend and Backsberg Kosher Pinotage or Sparkling Brut.
DID YOU KNOW? "Chenin Blanc, the most planted grape variety in South Africa is known as Steen. Syrah from South Africa is becoming popular due to its dark spiced fruit flavors with a chocolate like richness. Pinotage is South Africa's very own grape variety; a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault. However, just because it's made with Pinot Noir doesn't mean it tastes the same! Pinotage offers juicy raspberry to blueberry fruit flavors with spiced chocolate and tobacco. The wines are much more dense, higher alcohol and typically more savory than Pinot Noir. Several other red wines are growing in South Africa, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir and Cinsault and most of the these varieties end up being blended" Wine Folly.
Jennifer is an EXPERT in these wines and will be able to answer any questions you may have.
Hope you can join us for the POUR. Sip, Socialize and a LOT of Education!
