Join us for at 116 Crown for “The Sherry Games” which include competitions in Venencia Pouring and Spanish Language Bingo.
Venencia Competition:
A “venencia” is a traditional tool of the sherry bodega. Used to sample wine from a barrel, it is a slim tin cup attached to a long, bendable shaft crafted from whalebone. With the flourish of a matador, from this tiny cup wine is poured at a distance into an even tinier copita tasting glass. [www.sherrynotes.com/2016/background/venencia-cana/]
The competition is simple: give the venencia a go, the person who gets the most water in the cup and looks the coolest while doing it, wins.
Spanish Language Bingo!:
Students of Spanish Language, come one, come all! Bingo really needs no introduction. We will have 2 Bingo! cards to choose from: beginner/intermediate and intermediate/advanced. For those of us with just a lick of Spanish under our belts, don’t worry, we have beginners booklet to help you play the game.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the games.
