Come celebrate Japanese cuisine and its local culture on Sunday, September 30thatthe Altman Building (135 W. 18th St., NYC). This is the first culinary expo of its kind, where nearly 30 domestic and international vendors will offer generous samples of the finest quality seafood and Japanese specialty foods found in restaurants all over the world.
Doors open at 11:00 AM. The showcase event is the cutting of an over 200-pound Spanish bluefin tuna, which will take place LIVE at 11:30 AM on the Main Stage, with sushi making and tasting beginning from 12:00 PM. This is the ultimate sushi sampling, with an opportunity to taste the freshly cut Spanish bluefin tuna, freshly grated wasabi, and other sushi ingredients.
Featured products include Japanese bluefin tuna, hamachi, sea bream, uni, and wagyu. Trending foods such as matcha desserts, ramen, and poke products are also available for tasting. The “Tsukiji Express” will offer samplings of fresh fish from the famous Tsukiji Fish Market and features a large tank with live king crab and spot prawns.
