It’s Asheville’s best free wine tasting, and you’re invited to stop by and taste some new Portuguese and Spanish wines.

Asheville’s Best Free Wine Tasting – Just stop by – we’ve got plenty of free parking!

As we transition out of summer and dry rose season, we’re adding lots of new wines to the store. And Portugal and Spain are two of the first countries I look to for great values. Join us as we pull the corks/twist the caps and some delicious and exciting new arrivals. And don’t forget, all of the featured tasting wines are 20% off BY THE BOTTLE on tasting day. Taste, learn, save every Friday at Table Wine.

All of the featured tasting wines are 20% off by the bottle on tasting day only.

1. 2017 Joao Portugal Ramos Vila Santa Loios Branco (Alentejo, Portugal) – João Portugal Ramos is Portugal’s most famous winemaker, and he makes a wide range of wines at his namesake winery. This one combines Portugal’s native Roupeiro and Rabo de Ovelha to create an engaging white wine. At just over $7, how’s this sound? “Medium-bodied, offering a creamy, sleek profile of peach and mango flavors matched with herb and salty mineral accents. Ample spice and floral details mingle on the honey-tinged finish.”
Wine Spectator – 88 points

2. 2015 Joao Portugal Ramos Vila Santa Loios Tinto (Alentejo, Portugal) –The Vila Santa Loios Red is a blend of traditional red varieties – Aragonês, Trincadeira, and Castelão. Like the white, this offers a ton of character for the money. “At a bargain-basement price, this is a lot of fun. It has surprisingly good structure in its youth, a lifted feel and some grip on the finish. It is remarkably bright and sunny.”
Wine Advocate – 86 points

3. 2015 Dominio de Eguren Codice Tinto (Castilla Y Leon, Spain) – A contender for the best red wine value in the world, this 100% Tempranillo-based wine comes from vineyards that were planted back in the late 1940’s. Aged for 6 months in French and American oak, this delivers the goods! And at less than $10/bottle, you might want to buy more than one bottle. “Terrific notes of black cherries, floral notes, cedary spice, and dried herbs all flow from this pure, elegant, very pretty red that has fine tannin, a forward, sexy texture and no hard edges.” Jeb Dunnuck – 90 points
