Contemporary Italian restaurant Maestoso in Hillcrest will present a prix fixe wine dinner inspired by the flavors of Northern Italy’s Piemonte region the evening of Wednesday, October 3. With four courses crafted by Chef Marco Maestoso, who has cooked for names like former Italian President Giorgio Napolitano and Donatella Versace, this one-night-only experience will be available to guests visiting at any time between 5 and 10 p.m. at $59 per person.
For this wine-paired dinner menu, Batasiolo Wines representative Stefano Poggi has selected four varietals from Italy’s Piemonte region, an area in northwestern Italy set amongst vineyards and fields where Italy’s famous risotto rices are grown. Piemonte is well known for wine production, particularly its famous Barolo DOC, often considered the best of the Italian reds - and which will be paired during Maestoso’s October 3 dinner with an ossobuco risotto. Maestoso’s prix fixe dinner menu includes:
Antipasti
Vitello Tonnato/Tonno Vitellato - contemporary take on Vitel Tonné
Gavi DOCG 2017- still, clean white with citrus and white floral notes, fresh with minerality
Primo
Pinsa in Piemonte - pinsa with speck, brie and reduction of Dolcetto d'Alba
Dolcetto d’Alba DOC 2016 - stainless steel, aromatic violets, plums
Secondo
Risotto al Nebbiolo con Ossobuco - Nebbiolo wine risotto with veal ossobuco
Barolo DOCG 2014
Dessert
Cioccolato, Nocciole e Frutta al Vino - chocolate, hazelnut and wine infused fruit
Moscato Rosè VSQD NV - Vino Spumante di Qualità Dolce made with rare red clone Moscato from Trentino and local Moscato Bianco
All wines served during Maestoso’s Piemonte wine dinner will be available for purchase. To reserve seating, call Maestoso directly at (619) 642-0777 or email hello@maestoso.com.
