On Wednesday, September 26th from 4:30 to 7:30PM, Stuart Bryan and Steve Pride, owners of Pride Mountain Vineyards, return to our wine bar at the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant.
At an elevation of 2100 feet along the Mayacamas Mountain Range, Pride Mountain Vineyards is the only winery we know of that has the Napa/Sonoma county line running right through the property. Thus, this one of a kind winery offers wines with both Napa and Sonoma on their labels, as the fruit from their vineyard is literally sourced from the adjacent counties.
The property dates back to 1872. Jim and Carolyn Pride bought it in 1990 intending to retire while continuing to farm and sell grapes. As fate would have it, the quality was so outstanding that the Prides decided to create their own wine.
Debbie met the Prides in the 90’s and has been selling their wine ever since. Their Merlot was the darling of the winery and it has still triumphed as the same, world-class wine 25 vintages later. Fans couldn’t get enough of their stunning Cabernet Franc at that time either, and that was when it wasn’t allocated; the good old days. While their Cabernet Sauvignon has always reigned supreme, their Viognier has stood the test of time longer than most as a striking, high-elevation, aromatic white wine.
Debbie, our Ferry Godmother recently spoke at a Pride dinner. She said:
“As I was reflecting on so many wonderful things about Pride, one thing stood out to me the most. The Prides are a very rare breed in the wine world. Their name is on the label the way their heart and spirit are in the bottle. They still own the winery, work at the winery, travel to sell the wine, host winemaker dinners, and they always remain humble and grateful. They generously give back by spearheading many fundraisers, particularly the Sonoma County Barrel Auction. When the Napa and Sonoma County fires hurt so many, they were right there to share what they have to raise money and give back to those in need. A deliciously rare vintage of character, and we are a greater industry with the Pride family among us”.

The featured wines will be served as both one and two ounce pours and five ounce glasses; the bottles will be available for retail sale while supplies last.
The cost of the 1-ounce flight will be $25.00 and the cost of the 2-ounce flight will be $46.00 and will include the following wines:
