In conversation with Douglass Williams, Chef/Owner of MIDA

Featuring photographer Angie Mosier

James Beard Award-winning cookbook author Virginia Willis comes to the BCAE for a fascinating exploration of the tangled and compelling web of race, politics, and social history that are served up alongside biscuits and gravy in the American South. Join Virginia and Chef Douglass Williams of MIDA as they talk about everything from collard greens, to arepas, to stories that reveal the rich and diverse roots of the cuisine of the global South. Angie Mosier‘s stunning photographs are the final ingredient in this evening that will transport you from Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains to the fields and farms of Tennessee.

Secrets of the Southern Table by Virginia Willis will be available for purchase at this event. A taste of some of the recipes featured in the new cookbook will be served during a reception and book-signing immediately following the talk.

No discounts apply.
