Ideal 55 is excited to announce our first wine dinner in the Orange County area on October 4, 2018 as we welcome our friends and collectors to the south!
We have the privilege and opportunity to host our friends from Laurel Glen Vineyard in the private dining room at the Capital Grille in Costa Mesa. Some of you may remember our LA dinner with Laurel Glen nearly 3 years ago, to which we received a terrific response. It was such a great response to their wines, in fact, that we’ve decided to partner with them again to showcase their wines for another group of fans and collectors in the Orange County area.
We’re excited and fortunate to have such a storied producer open their library and share multiple vintages, including their most prized and highly rated Lot Series and back vintages of Estate wines. Proprietor Bettina Sichel will join Ideal 55 for this exclusive retrospective event. The team at The Capital Grille has customized a delicious pairing menu for us as they welcome our group to the Plaza Room.
Long considered one of the more iconic and storied vineyards in Sonoma County, Laurel Glen produces balanced and nuanced wines that are known for their longevity and graceful ageability. Sitting about 1,000 ft. up Sonoma Mountain, this is a special vineyard, originally planted in the late 1880’s and then developed by Sonoma County wine pioneer, Patrick Campbell in the 1970’s. It’s true Sonoma County royalty and a gem of California wine country.
2011 began a new era at Laurel Glen when Patrick sold the winery to a group who are reinvigorating Laurel Glen with great care. Under the guidance of organic viticultural guru Phil Coturri and winemaker Randall Watkins, Laurel Glen enters a new phase in its development.
