Please join us on Thursday September 20th for a Tour of South America Wine Dinner at the Missouri Botanical Garden. The Featured Speaker is Janine Poleman, Central States Sales Director for Elixir Wine Group, an import wine company specializing in artisan, family-owned estates across Europe and South America. Her passion for handmade wines with a strong sense of place has lead to extensive travel in order to work directly with the producers she represents. The wine industry has been her professional home for close to 20 years, with stints across all channels: restaurant sommelier, director of on-premise sales for a multi-state distributor, Bordeaux import portfolio director, charity wine auctioneer, wine educator and occasional Champagne-saber-wielding maniac! The Five Course Menu designed by Chef Lisa Slay has been perfectly paired with Five Wines from different South American Wine Regions.

First Course

Nicaraguan Tostones - Fried Green Plantains with Avocado Crema paired with 2016 Durigutti Viognier, Valle de Uco, Mendoza Argentina

Second Course

Brazilian Prawn and Coconut Stew over Rice paired with 2017 Garage Wine Co. Pais, Secano Interior DO, Maule Valley Chile

Third Course

Chilean Pastel de Choclo - Braised Chicken, Olive, Onion and Raisin Corn Pie paired with 2015 Durigutti Cabernet Franc, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza Argentina

Fourth Course

Peruvian Anticuchos de Carne with Aji Panca Chile - Grilled Beef Kebobs with Mild, Smoky Pepper Rub and Grilled Pineapple paired with 2013 San Pedro de Yachochuya Malbec, Valles Calchaquíes, Salta Argentina

Fifth Course

Uruguayan Alfajores with Dulce de Leche paired with 2015 Elqui Syrah/Carmenere/Malbec, Elqui Valley Chile
