The Rise of Spanish Grapes:  Classic Varieties find a home in Califoria

It's no secret that the Central Coast can grow just about any grape, so we are not surprised by the recent upswing in the planting of traditional Spanish grapes like Albarino, Tempranillo, Graciano, and others. Spain and California, especially Paso, have VERY similar climates (some grapes like it hot), making this an ideal place to try something new with something traditional and, as usual, Garagiste winemakers are on the cutting edge of showcasing the beauty and intensity of these grapes. Verdad Wines has been on the forefront of this movement, planting their first vines over 20 years ago. Since our first Festival in 2011, we have seen the rise of these grapes and have featured over 100 different Spanish-inspired wines at our events. Join us for a unique opportunity to learn AND taste what these California-grown versions are bringing to the glass.

Seminar Panelists: Louisa Sawyer Lindquist (Verdad Wines),  Enrique Torres (Diablo Paso), and Jeremy Leffert (Croma Vera Wines).
