It’s that time of year again, when ghouls and ghosts haunt the The Mai-Kai, scaring up frightening fun. Hulaween has become one of South Florida's most authentically fun Halloween bashes. No fancy gimmicks or wacky concepts, just a good old-fashioned costume party in The Mai-Kai's nautical-themed Molokai bar featuring some of South Florida's best retro-themed bands.
HULAWEEN 10 – BACK FROM THE DEAD PARTY, sponsored by APPLETON RUM, starts at 5 p.m. and features live music by South Florida roots rockers Slip and the Spinouts, a costume contest, deadly drink specials and retro Halloween tunes during happy hour.
The haunted happy hour runs from 5 to 7 p.m., with most of the bar's dangerous tropical drinks, such as the Zombie and the Shrunken Skull and all appetizers priced at 50 percent off.
After 7 p.m., Slip and the Spinouts will get scare up some monstrous mayhem on the dance floor with three sets of their distinctive mix of rockabilly, Western, swing, surf, blues and roots music. APPLETON RUM is donating cash prizes for first, second and third place in the costume contest that begins around 10 p.m. In addition winners will receive a Best of Blood mask courtesy of TRICK OR TREAT STUDIOS, One Blu-Ray set for four Tiki terror monster classic movies called THE BLOOD ISLAND COLLECTION courtesy of SEVERIN FILMS and BEAST OF BLOOD t-shirts donated by DRIVE-IN-SANITY FILMS.Appleton Rum drink specials will be available all night long. The bar will be rockin' past midnight, until the last person back from the dead has been defeated….
