Board in captivating Barcelona, then set sail for Port-Vendres, France. Here, charming red roofs and stone buildings invite you to explore this ancient port of trade and sample its renowned seafood and Collioure wines.

Take in the towering limestone cliffs of Cap Canaille as we sail into Cassis. Travel to Avignon to sample local cuisine, explore the Calanques National Park, or simply sit on the seaside promenade and dive into a bowl of bouillabaisse.

The action picks up with an overnight stay in Marseilles. Visit the Vieux Port, a lively fishing harbor; Le Panier, one of the oldest and most stroll-worthy neighborhoods; or the North African souks and shops in the Capucin district.

Enjoy an elegant lunch in the old town on “the rock” in Monte-Carlo. Visit the luxury shops and return to town for dinner. Or, enjoy an evening at the famous Casino where James Bond ordered the perfect martini.

Livorno is the gateway to the magnificent art and architecture of Florence, Pisa’s famous leaning tower, and rustic Tuscan vineyards. Don’t worry, there’s no need to rush with an overnight stay. Take your time, relax, and explore before ending your journey in the Eternal City of Rome.

When one didn’t exist, David Glancy created a Certified Sommelier Program at the Professional Culinary Institute (now known as ICC), successfully coaching more than 400 students to pass the Court’s Certified Sommelier exam.

Glancy’s program remains the only Certified Sommelier program officially approved by the Court of Master Sommeliers. Soon after in 2011, Glancy founded San Francisco Wine School to create the ideal educational setting from the ground up.

Glancy is one of only twelve people in the world to hold both the revered Master Sommelier diploma and a Certified Wine Educator credential. A certified French Wine Scholar, Italian Wine Professional, and Certified Specialist of Spirits, Glancy has earned the credential for every program he teaches, and more. He taught wine and business management at Le Cordon Bleu’s California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, and served on the editorial board of Sommelier Journal. He currently sits on the board of directors for the Society of Wine Educators.
