Weekly Wine Tasting With

David Lemonnier of Slocum + Sons

Jean Paul Brun FRV 100 Sparkling Rose $19.99
A sparkling Gamay from this biodynamic Beaujolais producer, the FRV100 is made in the ancient style, grapes are fermented in chilled vats until the alcohol reaches about 6%. After a light filtration, the wine is bottled and continues fermenting with the remaining yeasts, stopping at about 7½-8% alcohol. The end result is a light, refreshingly fruity wine that still boasts a beautiful crisp finish that begs for another sip. An excellent alternative for aperitivo hour.

Foradori Fontanasanta Manzoni Bianco 2016 $24.99
Winemaker Elisabetta Foradori has made a name for herself over the past 20 years producing organic, biodynamic wines from the native grapes of the alpine region of Trentino. Manzoni Bianco is a hybrid of Riesling and Pinot Blanc. The wine shows beautiful white floral notes on the nose that transitions to deep golden stone fruit and a bright, lively acidity on the palate.

Weingut Eugen Werheim Riesling Spatlese Trocken 2013 $9.99

This Nierstein Riesling is fermented fully dry, however, it is also a Spatlese, meaning late-harvest, which gives the wine a greater degree of richness. A 2013, this wine shows you what a few years in bottle can do for a Riesling, deepening and lengthening the exotic fruit aromatics. An excellent pairing for spicy Pan-Asian dishes.

Drew Mid-Elevation Pinot Noir 2016 $29.99
Located on Mendocino's far coast, 3.3 miles from the ocean, Drew produces small lot cool climate wines from the Mendocino Ridge and the Anderson Valley AVAs. Traditional methods and sustainable farming practices are employed to craft wines with elegance and transparency.
