Jean Paul Brun FRV 100 Sparkling Rose $19.99
A sparkling Gamay from this biodynamic Beaujolais producer, the FRV100 is made in the ancient style, grapes are fermented in chilled vats until the alcohol reaches about 6%. After a light filtration, the wine is bottled and continues fermenting with the remaining yeasts, stopping at about 7½-8% alcohol. The end result is a light, refreshingly fruity wine that still boasts a beautiful crisp finish that begs for another sip. An excellent alternative for aperitivo hour.
Foradori Fontanasanta Manzoni Bianco 2016 $24.99
Winemaker Elisabetta Foradori has made a name for herself over the past 20 years producing organic, biodynamic wines from the native grapes of the alpine region of Trentino. Manzoni Bianco is a hybrid of Riesling and Pinot Blanc. The wine shows beautiful white floral notes on the nose that transitions to deep golden stone fruit and a bright, lively acidity on the palate.
Weingut Eugen Werheim Riesling Spatlese Trocken 2013 $9.99
This Nierstein Riesling is fermented fully dry, however, it is also a Spatlese, meaning late-harvest, which gives the wine a greater degree of richness. A 2013, this wine shows you what a few years in bottle can do for a Riesling, deepening and lengthening the exotic fruit aromatics. An excellent pairing for spicy Pan-Asian dishes.
