The official first day of spring was Tuesday and we’ll be celebrating with a great “warmer weather” lineup from Vanguard Wines with Whitney DeJohn as our host.
Here's the lineup:
2017 Moulin de Gassac Picpoul de Pinet (Languedoc, France) $13.99
Fresh, crisp with a hint of yellow flowers. Palate is Very fresh with great balance. A fairly full wine, fleshy yet fresh, ends deliciously with long acidity. $13.99
2016 Foucher- Lebrun Touraine Sauvignon Blanc (Loire, France) $13.99
Nose of citrus, grapefruit with herbaceous notes. On the Palate,
lovely grassiness, crisp gooseberry & a hint of lime. Great pairing with goat cheese.
2017 Montrose Rosé (Pays D’Oc, France) $11.99
A blend of 65% Grenache/25% Cabernet/ 10% Syrah. Light pink color with red berries and peach flavors with spicy overtones. An elegant wine combining roundness and freshness.
2017 Domain Turenne Cuvée Rosie Rosé (Provence, France) $16.99
Cinsault/ Grenache/ Syrah. Balanced, forward rosé with cherry and sweet red floral notes. Light bodied, quite gentle and supple on the mid palate with a moderate finish.
2016 Lola Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley, CA) $29.99
This wine has the aromas of fresh strawberry, cherry, red currant, flowers, and notes of cedar and cinnamon from the French oak aging. It is rich on the palette, full with flavors echoing the fruity aromas. Refreshing acidity and very fine tannins reveal themselves in the wines long finish.
2015 Matteo Corregio Barbera D’Alba (Piedmont, Italy) $19.99
Lively nose of crushed raspberries and blueberry with hints of pepper and rose petals. On the palate, the wine is juicy with an unctuous silky texture and a freshness that extends through the finish. Supremely balanced and complex.
