A.K.A. Red Wines Beyond Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot, Gamay, Grenache….  In the dead of winter, we all appreciate RED wines – with their dense, dark fruit, warming body and pleasant grip.  We want to showcase delicious outlier wines, beyond the easily familiar.  Intrepid Wine Team Leader Jorge has come up with an intriguing, delectable, wildly eclectic list, what fun!  You can look forward to meeting: Trousseau (perfumed, powerful wines from the Jura), Nielluccio (Corsican Sangiovese!), Bobal (thriving in Spain’s warm southeast), Pugnitello (ancient, obscure Tuscan variety), Sagrantino (Montefalco’s tannic specialty), Schiava (‘Trollinger’ in Germany), Lagrein (flourishing in Alto Adige & Trentino), Frappato (highly aromatic Sicilian grape) and more!
