with Poggio Alloro’s Sarah Fioroni
Sarah Fioroni’s title at Tuscany’s Poggio Alloro estate: Executive Chef, Sommelier, and General Manager of the Winery! In other words, you’ll be hard pressed to find anyone better qualified to showcase the charms of Tuscan food and wine, and that’s exactly what she’ll do on Sunday, November 19 from 2-4pm at Chain Bridge Cellars.
Join us during this free, come-and-go, event to taste five different wines from the Fioroni family’s Tuscan farm and winery, Poggio Alloro, located just outside the walled city of San Gimignano. And, as you sample Vernaccia, Chianti, and sweet/savory Vin Santo, you’ll have the chance to try some treats from Virginia’s only Tuscan butcher: the US branch of Poggio Alloro’s neighbor Terre di Sienna!
Sarah’s importer, our good friend Maurizio Farro, will be pouring the wines while Sarah shares her family story, experiences in Tuscan food and wine, and even autographs her cookbook for you to enjoy at home (we’ll have copies for sale during the event). The cookbooks and wines will all be available at very special celebratory pricing.
You’ll enjoy meeting Sarah, delight in her clear, easy-to-follow, recipes for authentic Tuscan foods, and you’ll love the wines, too! With a nip of Autumn in the air, we could all us a bit of warming Tuscan sun. A visit and tasting with Poggio Alloro’s Sarah Fioroni is the next best thing. Join us!
