Oregon is no cake-walk when it comes to winemaking. Although beautiful, the state commonly experiences bouts of excessive rain, frost, lack of sunlight, and overall erratic weather patterns. The winemakers of Oregon welcome these challenges year after year in turn, and when Nature works in their favor emerge wines of utter beauty, focus, and finesse. At this class we will be focusing on the top styles and most common varietals from this region, discussing the history of winemaking in the state, and how Oregon came to be known internationally for elegant and terroir-driven Pinot Noir.
