One of the oldest wine-producing countries in the world, Hungary has been gaining more and more recognition for its wines. The country has a colorful wine scene with a long list of indigenous varietals and very rich food and wine-making traditions. In this class we’ll go through some general wine facts about the country and then focus on two volcanic regions in the north part of the country: Eger and Tokaj.

The class will be taught by Gabor Banfalvi, owner and co-founder of Taste Hungary, the country’s leading food and wine tour company. Gabor will share his insights into Hungarian wines, wine regions, and history.

Gabor holds an advanced WSET certificate. His company owns a wine cellar and tasting room in the heart of Budapest called the Tasting Table, and offers walking tours of Budapest and wine tours to various regions in Hungary and Austria.
