A Bit off the Beaten Path in White, Red, Fizz
Friday, 3-7 pm
Saturday, 12-4 pm

Come try some new grapes, wines from new regions, and just marvel at the value this weekend at Chain Bridge Cellars! There's something unique and compelling about all the wines on the tasting table this Friday from 3-7pm and Saturday from noon-4pm. Join us both days to sample:

Dom de Martinolles Cremant de Limoux Grand Reserve 2013 - Served as the intro wine at our recent Cassoulet feasts, this frothy and surprisingly sophisticated Champagne-style fizz was the hit of the meal! A blend of 70% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir and 20% Chenin Blanc, it's nicely toasty and remarkably refined.

Accadia Verdicchio Castelli di Jesi Classico Consono 2016 - A mouthful of a name for a mouthful of delicious Italian white wine at a pretty breathtakingly low price. A richer, deeper, style of Verdicchio with almost tropical fruit and plenty of body and depth.

Las Compuertas Criolla Mendoza 2019 - "Criolla" in Mendoza, "Mission in California and "Pais" in Chile, this is the first wine grape brought to the New World from Europe. This is from 1943 plantings, full of tart cherry/strawberry fruit, and sweet/tart on the mouthwatering finish. Yummy, rare, very limited and very much worth trying.

Steindorfer Apetlon Rouge Burgenland 2017 - A delicious blend of Austria's three main red grapes - Blaufränkisch, St. Laurent and Zweigelt - aged 17 months in used French oak, this is full of red cherry and raspberry fruit with just-right accents of cut flowers and sweet spice. Great everyday red.

Laureano Gomez Malbec Mendoza 2018 - Handcrafted Malbec at its best, this offers up bold aromas and flavors of blackberry cassis, black plum and bitter chocolate and finishes with a nicely firm, but still easygoing, burst of cocoa dust and firm tannin. A great steak wine or anytime drinker.

As always, we'll have something from the cheese case out to sample with the wines and best six- and 12-bottle savings prices on a mix/match basis during the tasting.
