On Saturday, January 18 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Match Restaurant and Lounge hosts a five-course wine-pairing dinner featuring varietals from Freakshow Wines and exclusive dishes artfully prepared by Chef Orlando Parker. Courses include:
First Course — Creamy Sweet Potato and Peanut Soup with notes of caramel topped with Cracker Jack popcorn served with Freakshow Chardonnay, featuring grapes sourced from the Phillips family’s vineyard in Lodi
Second Course — Candy Apple Salad with an apple medley and salted caramel, peanuts, brie cheese, and crispy pancetta paired with Michael Phillips’ Cabernet Sauvignon, made with fruit from original “super freak” Michael Phillips own vineyard
Third Course — Double Stuffed Arancini Balls — fontina and parmesan cheese risotto filled with goat cheese stuffed peppadew peppers with a crispy coating complemented by Freakshow Red — a blend of Syrah’s untamed and mysterious allure refined and polished with the addition of Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot
Fourth Course — Main Tent Corndog — a prosciutto-wrapped beef kielbasa sausage with jalapeno and sharp cheddar breading served with mushroom and onion ketchup and bourbon honey mustard and paired with Freakshow Zin, which pays homage to the winery’s roots in Lodi and focuses on the distinctive bright fruit and spice characteristics for which the heritage varietal is known
Fifth Course — Raspberry Funnel Cake Sundae featuring a classic funnel cake with raspberry sauce, French vanilla ice cream and cotton candy served with Petite Petit, a blend of 85% Petite Sirah and 15% Petit Verdot offering a joyous explosion of color and fun
