The Meritage Association was founded in 1988 by a group of Napa Valley producers who wanted a name to signify Bordeaux style blends without infringing upon the name Bordeaux itself.
A noble cause.
They ran a contest and selected the name Meritage.
A Bordeaux style blend is any wine using the grapes which are allowed in Bordeaux, France. They are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot, Carmenere and Malbec.
These grapes, several of which do very well on their own are sometimes fabulous when blended together.
Come see and taste.
Price is $20. Please call or see the front desk to place reservations. 802 253-5742. Doors open @ 4:00. I suggest you arrive no later than 5:00 to avoid feeling rushed. People come and go during the tasting which is an informal walk around format. We end at 6:00
