Looking for light, refreshing, lower-alcohol whites and red? Or craving big, bold, warming whites and reds to get you through a sloppy winter weekend? Something for everyone on the tasting table this Friday from 3-7pm and Saturday from noon-4pm. Join us to sample:
Cenatiempo Ischia Bianco Superiore 2018 - A crisp, almost salty, white from the Italian island of Ischia blending equal parts Biancolella and Forastera plus 15% other assorted local varieties such as Collionara and Biancolellone.
Caraccioli Chardonnay Santa Lucia Highlands 2016 - What happens when a top California sparkling wine estate gets their Chardonnay too ripe for fizz? This stunning, Wine Enthusiast 93 point, white with a just-right touch of spicy oak from $24.98.
Ridge Crest Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley 2016 - How much Cab can you get for $11.98? Usually, not much, but this gem is the exception with plenty of spiced blackberry and cherry fruit and a dusty cocoa powder finish.
Cenatiempo Per' 'e Palummo Ischia 2018 - A lovely light, fresh, and yet somehow hearty-feeling Piedirosso that the Washington Post awarded three stars (its top rating!) and Vinous 92 points for "plenty of juiciness and persistent flavors of ink, blackberry and botanicals."
En Numeros Vermells Priorat AiAiAi 2018 - And you thought Silvia Puig's 2017 reds were good! This is big, bold, rich and fabulous while retaining a remarkable savory freshness. Compellingly delicious.
As always, we’ll offer best six- and 12-bottle savings prices on a mix/match basis during the tastings and have something yummy from the cheese case out to sample with the wines. Whether you’re looking for something light and lovely or bold and beautiful, we’ve got you covered this weekend!
