Pennsylvania Wine Excellence XVIII

January is the month that your wine society celebrates the Pennsylvania wine industry by holding a tasting featuring the top scoring wines determined by a panel of judges, led this year by Kevin Ostrowski. Kevin has recently received his Certified Specialist of Wine with the Society of Wine Educators. The winery that made the top scoring wine will be given our beautiful award plaque to display for a year. Other top scoring wines will receive certificates. Representatives from the top thirteen wineries will be there to speak about their wines, vintage challenges in the vineyard, and many interesting facts and entertaining anecdotes.
Usually we have a group of the top ten wines to present to you at our PA Excellence event. This year the scoring results were such that we had more ties than usual, and thus, we will be presenting thirteen top wines! Now that is a real incentive for those of you who are considering attending the event, as you will have more great wines to try. After the tasting you can lightly sample some of the honorable mention wines as well.
