Come and hear the fascinating stories of the terroirs of Burgundy and Alsace, see the historic chateaux of Bordeaux and Loire, feel the warmth of the Mediterranean Sea in the Rhône Valley, and taste the effervescent luxury of Champagne. We will taste 6 different wines as we wind our way through some of the most famous wine-growing regions and learn about the common varieties, history of the region, how to read a label, and much more!

We are about to kick off a 4 part series that explore the major wine making regions of Europe. Join us as we fly through the historic vineyards of France, the beautiful countryside of Italy, learn about the traditional winemaking techniques of Spain and Portugal, and finish with the many beautiful and high quality wines from Germany and Austria.

Taught by Giordana G. Sobel, CSW

Giordana is a Detroit-based wine educator and marketer that has lived, worked, and tasted around in the world. With a Masters in Wine Marketing from Bordeaux, she has worked for a winery in Tuscany, has completed wine harvests in Australia and Napa, and done consulting and wine exporting everywhere else in between! She is a Certified Specialist in Wine (CSW), holds her WSET Level III certificate, is an Introductory Sommelier, and is going for her Certified Wine Educator’s certification and Italian Wine Scholar Certificate. Champagne is her favorite wine and she always has a bottle chilled, ready to celebrate!
