Join us for a Georgian Wine Festival focusing on the Saperavi grape variety and Qvevri wines.

Saperavi is an indigenous grape variety native to the country of Georgia and is one of the few grape varieties in the world that has tinted flesh. Saperavi literally means "paint, dye, color". The wines have a naturally dark color with structured tannins and high acidity. This festival will showcase more than a dozen different Saperavi wines which are fermented and aged in stainless steel, oak and/or Qvevri.

Qvevri wine-making takes its name from the distinctive, egg-shaped, earthenware vessel - the Qvevri - in which wine is fermented, aged and stored. This method of wine-making has been used throughout Georgia for at least 8,000 years. This ancient Georgian traditional Qvevri wine-making method was added to UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2013.

Ghvino Forum 2019 is the largest Georgian Wine tasting event ever held in the Boston area. Please join us on Sunday, October 27th, 2:00pm - 5:00pm for the Saperavi & Qvevri Wine Festival and let us share this 8,000 year old winemaking tradition with YOU!

Tickets are just $10 and can be purchased via Eventbrite:
